I awoke to another birthday today, one I thought I’d never see. Even when I was as young as 11 years old I told Mrs. Richardson (my school teacher at the time) that I wouldn’t see a birthday past forty. I remember this as clearly as it was yesterday; I told her to just ask Billy Joel, he’ll tell you that “only the good die young“.
Needless to say I’m still alive, kicking and very happy that I made it past forty as my life today is more blessed than it’s ever been. My Forever Love and Muse Miss Lyndsay Lane has become my soul reason for living. The births of Cade and Collin have made me see Clearer than I ever have and my Heart Miss Meleia Jean keeps my everyday of life more important than the last. I’m also very proud of my oldest boys Conner and Zachary – they’ve turned out to be such good men. I’d like to think I had a little to do with this although I was never around much for them.
Everything I make it through everyday wouldn’t be possible without my new family here in Iowa; Ted, Connie, Missy, Deb and John, Lori and Vern, the list goes on and on. These people are what make my world as Sunny as it is these days.

I made it Mom and Dad. I’m still alive. I’m still kicking. Thank you. You’re both the main reason I am where I stand today. I’m not sure where this new year and new life will take me but I know that I’ll smile more than I’ll cry and this alone makes every breath I take worthwhile.
Yes Lyndsay, I know too that one day everything will be ok again between us. I do love you.
