my father’s day weekend
Sunday, June 21st, 2009I had an incredible father’s day weekend this year. I was unable to spend it with my boys Conner and Zachary, but my new family here made it awesome! I spent most of Saturday with Little Miss Meleia, my precious 3 year old daughter. We played in her little pool and took walks together. I also let her chase me with the garden hose and spray me, her favorite thing to do these days!
Lyndsay and the twins took me out to dinner Saturday night. I let the twins have my steak and I had fried ravioli and a salad. The twins also had some of my fried ravioli, breadsticks, bread and french fries!
Today we went to the yearly family BBQ that’s held at Aunt Debbie’s house in Hill Town to celebrate Grandma Joy’s birthday. There must have been at least 50 family members present! Conversation was mostly about the baby poets and the long, long nights to come! Also, everyone still seems to think I’ll be punished with 2 girls! They are probably right, and I probably deserve it!
When we returned home I was left alone to take a father’s day nap. It was PERFECT!!!
I am so amazed at how the last year of my life has turned out. I literally went from having nothing (very little clothes, notebooks full of poetry and a computer to be exact) to being completely blessed. I believed in love once again and finally found the true love I always knew existed for me. With this love came the most beautiful girlfriend I’ve ever imagined, a beautiful daughter that has completely stolen my heart, and the anticipated arrival of my first biological children, the baby poets!!!
I feel like I have the world in my hands. I have a great job, an amazing muse and an awesome new family here. Everyone in Lyndsay’s family has made me feel right at home. They are all very good people and I have great respect for their kindness and love.
After 40 years I think I’m finally home.
Thank you Lyndsay. For believing in me. For believing in love. For giving me the chance to be a father. I love you so very much!!!
